INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A fundraiser for Riley Hospital for Children took dedication and stamina. Participants climbed to the top of the One America building for the 31st annual Bop to the Top.
The competitors climbed more than 780 stairs to raise money for the hospital. Over the past 30 years Bop to the Top has raised more than $500,000.
Donations will support clinical care and pediatric medical research. At least 1,000 people took part in the climb.
“It’s just a matter of keeping it going and again not that much different than what the kids at Riley are doing, it’s not a sprint it’s a marathon you just got to pick your pace and keep going day after day, step after step,” said Todd Andritsch with Team Luke.
Andritsch climbs for his son Luke who was diagnosed with leukemia when he was three years old. Luke is now a healthy 4th grader and the family wants to give back to Riley Hospital.
The event raised more than $9,000 as of Saturday afternoon.
